About the Artist

Blake has been exhibiting work for over ten years. Her work has been shown at Craft ACT, Strathnairn Arts, Tuggeranong Arts Centre, Design Space CIT Gallery, The Q Gallery Queanbeyan and the Milk Depot Gallery Bowral.

With an energetic approach, like unpredictable weather, Blake lathers paint directly onto the canvas, manoeuvring mediums with non-traditional tools, creating layers, like nature to mimic landscapes and seascapes.

Jenny Blake is driven by an insatiable interest in people, nature and life’s complexities. Climate change and sustainability is a common theme throughout her work. She paints damaged and dynamic landscapes and seascapes.

Blake feels the facts on climate change are overwhelming, even frightening, the science is undeniable.

“Australia boasts the most beautiful beaches in the world and in summer most of us flock to the coast to soak up the sun, sand and salt water, to watch the waves and see the tide come in and out. More than recreation, the sea plays a pivotal role in the worlds ecology and she too is suffering due to climate change”.
