Splatter's 'Small World' Exhibition - AndrewShire Gallery, Singapore
At 3pm on Saturday 22 September 2007, Splatter, in conjunction with the
AndrewShire Gallery, launched their first solo overseas exhibition,
'Small World'.
Negotiations with the AndrewShire Gallery have led to an exclusive relationship between Splatter and the Gallery until September 2008, securing a major presence for Splatter's original artwork in Singapore for the next year.
Christopher Martin and Angela Maher from Splatter visited Singapore from Australia to attend the official launch of 'Small World'.
Christopher Martin, Creative Director for Splatter Pty Ltd has been working over the last few months on the design and execution of some extremely exciting, exclusive major pieces for this exhibition.
"'Small world' is a chance for me to show bolder, more intricate pieces than usual," says Christopher. "The show is a nod to everything I have achieved until now, demonstrating a heightened focus on the world through the eyes of the child inside all of us; and specifically, the child inside of me."
This collection comprises art that adults and children can enjoy and discuss together. It bridges the gap across the age divide, yet is still appreciated as collectable, serious work that can hold it's head up in a competative art world. The work is strong emotionally, and doesn't suffer from sentimentality. It is joyous and witty and a keen observation of the beauty of the 'Small World' around us all.
Many pieces from the show sold at the opening of the exhibition. The remainder can be viewed online, and may still be purchased through the Gallery.
